Founded on April 12th, 2001, the agency has a long history of serving students that are living in the communities of Englewood, Grand Boulevard, and Austin. Compared to citywide statistics, these neighborhoods have high rates of adults without high school diplomas, unemployed, or not currently in the labor force. Given woeful statistics such as these, it is the intent of D.I.M.E Child to provide students with the necessary resources that will provide them with the skill sets necessary to be successful academically and professionally.
The agency currently has one program intended to assist student of low-income, at-risk, and first generation backgrounds - Trio Upward Bound. In the past, we've provided the following programs: Community Youth Employment Program, and No Child Left Behind: Title I, and Options.
The DCF mission is to provide educational resources and services to at-risk, low-income
students that would ensure them hope for a promising future. Through programs that
emphasize the importance of education, mentoring and leadership, youth are encouraged to
seek their highest level of potential.
To provide at-risk youth with equal access to educational programs and college opportunities.
